The writing process is changing due to the impact of digital literacies. Kylene Beers suggests, “as technology continues to evolve, always moving toward the more sophisticated, our literacy capacities must also grow more sophisticated”.  In response to changes in literacy, teachers are working to include careful implementation of 21st century literacies through purposeful pedagogy.

In this Web seminar, Troy and Dawn will review strategies for implementing technology into the classroom in meaningful ways, as well as the changes they’ve seen in the writing process specifically with students involved with blogging and podcasting.  “Re-seeing the Writing Process with Blogging and Podcasting” will include conversation about

  • Revisions of the writing process when using blogs and podcasts
  • Students composing with digital tools
  • Collaboration through blogs and podcasts
  • The role of audience with digital literacy experiences
  • Students utilizing social networks to develop social identities
